Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros - At the Old Vic Tunnels

Last night I had the pleasure of going to see for the first time 'Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros' play at the Old Vic Tunnels.
They played for a special 3 nights at the venue, creating a literally 'out of this world' installation gig experience. For the last 2 years the band have been creating unique engaging shows all over the world, but the show at the Old Vic is said to be their biggest yet.
As you arrived at the gig you were greeted by actors welcoming you to Mars.. only to then be further greeted by what i can only describe as wild west space cowboys, passing you a clear plastic bag (resembling a bag of illegal substances) telling you to take via the mouth and not the nose! The bizarre world just continued on, finding more unusual activities and actors round every corner. Sadly it was a little too dark for my Iphone to pick up any quality images so here's a few Zimbo

After the gig had finished the band announced that as we departed there would be cookies and milk for everyone at that we should all gather in the tunnels for an after show performance. So despite that fact my last tube was minutes away we muscled our way to the front to see a great acoustic performance in the tunnels.

I for some reason, can't upload any of my videos, however, here's a video I've pulled off you tube until I can get mine on, so you can see what I mean!

It truly was probably the best gig I had ever been to! I am defiantly keeping an eye out for any future performances from this amazing 10 piece band and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for any possible festival appearances! I highly recommend to anyone to get over to one of their gigs if you can!
